  • After four years of study, 26 students graduated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Early Morning Seminary in their various Wards of the Independence Stake.
Students are expected to attend, memorize 25 scripture passages and pass them off twice, and read scriptures daily, completing the particular segment of scriptures being studied that year, i.e., The Old Testament, The New Testament; The Book of Mormon; The Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price.
When asked why they get up at 4:30 a.m. to be at the Church by 5:40 a.m., Eli VanWay grinned and said, I'm not doing anything else at that time and it's a good way to start out your morning in a positive, spiritual way.
