The Community Blood Center will be hold the 9th Annual Adam's Army Blood Drive on June 8 at Timothy Lutheran Ministries at 425 N.W. Road Mize Road, Blue Springs.
The blood drive is held in honor of Adam Reed, the oldest of the five children of Mary and Jeff Reed, who was diagnosed with leukemia just before his 13th birthday in 2003. Through two bone marrow transplants and two years battling leukemia, Adam's family learned about the ongoing need for blood and blood products. During his two-year unsuccessful fight with leukemia, Adam was supported by many friends and relatives, and especially his Timothy family, who became known as Adam's Army. Their love and support for Adam during his battle with leukemia continues through this annual blood drive held in his memory.
This year's special T-shirt features the Adam's Army crest and will be given to the first 70 people to register. In addition, all donors will be given a buy one/get one free Schlitterbahn Water Park voucher as they check in at the event. Blood donors may register online at www.savealifenow.org, click on 'Schedule an appointment', type in TIMOTHYLUT for the sponsor code, select June 8 date and then your preferred time.
