Sugar Creek Police are searching for two white male subjects who were allegedly following children in two incidents within the past week.

On May 29 according to Sugar Creek police, a white man in a red car parked on the side of the road, opened the trunk of the vehicle and attempted to summon a child to him off of Ralston Street, close to U.S. 24. The child did not know the subject and did not contact him.

Police describe the white male as middle-aged with an average build.

Another incident took place Wednesday morning west of Scaritt Avenue in Sugar Creek when a white male occupying a dark-colored van was following a child. When the child stopped walking, the driver would either stop or reverse the vehicle away from the child. But when the child began to walk again, the driver continued to follow. The subject did not attempt to contact the child and only followed.

Due to the subject not leaving his van, a more detailed description of him could not be provided, police say.

“These incidents occurred four to five blocks from each other,” said Sugar Creek Police Captain Richard Hodges.  He added that police are considering two separate white male suspects rather than just one at this point in the investigation.

Police are urging citizens to call 911 immediately if they observe more suspicious activity that may be related to these incidents.
