If you have a small acreage or new to the rural area, it is important to identify forages and weeds that are commonly found on your acreage. The Extension Service has designed these meetings to help individuals identify common weeds and forages found locally. Participants will come away with an understanding on the basics of weed identification.
The first meeting will be June 19 at the Youth Center in Plattsburg and the second on June 26 at KCB Bank in Kearney. Both meetings run from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pre-registration is required for training material. Six booklets will be provided as part of the teaching materials and a fee is required to cover the expenses of the class. The registration deadline for Plattsburg is June 13 and may be made by calling Wayne Flanary at 660-446-3724. Registration for the Kearney meeting is June 20 and may be made by calling Wyatt Miller at 816-776-6961. Flanary and Miller are Regional Agronomists for the University of Missouri Extension.
