Dr. Tamara Peterson of Summit Pediatrics in Lee's Summit will have her dancing shoes on Saturday for the Dine & Dance with the Stars competition in Overland Park.
She is taking part in the event to raise money for Charlie's House, which is a 501c(3) resource center for keeping children safe by preventing injuries in and around homes. Information about Charlie's House is at charlieshouse.org
Her goal is to bring in $50,000 through fundraising and the dancing competition sponsored by the BMA Foundation. Supporters can still help by voting onlne at www.bmafoundation.org/register.php and selecting Tamara Peterson before voting.
The dancing part of the competition will be the highlight of the evening at the Overland Park Mariott from 5 p.m. to midnight.
