What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?

High school isn’t as long as it seems and it will be over before you know it. Realize the importance of good grades, but also don’t forget to live your life as well. Use your time wisely, and read good books!

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

If I had to pick a single favorite, I would pick Mr. Trusty. I felt that helping students understand the material was his top priority and he was very helpful if I ever had a question. I think I learned more in his two history classes than all my others.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?

I enjoy reading, running and playing the cello.

What college do you plan to attend and why?

I am attending Truman State University in the fall because I was lucky enough to receive a full ride scholarship there. I will be studying cello performance and astronomy.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

I have no idea where I’ll be in 10 years, but I know it will be somewhere interesting. I plan on attending a master’s program for cello and then using my youth to see as much of the word as possible.
