Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Michelle Vietor did so much more than teach me sophomore English - she was there for me during the most difficult and most trying time in my life. Over the years she has filled many roles - teacher, therapist, mentor, role model and above all, friend.
When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
When not in school or studying, I volunteered at Great Plains SPCA or with the Truman Heartland Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council. I also enjoyed running 5ks and playing with my baby niece, Ava. In the fall, I went and supported all of my friends in the Golden Regiment (Blue Springs High School marching band), and in the spring I went and watched my boyfriend, Matt, perform with the Wildcat Jazz Ensemble.
What college do you plan to attend and why?
I plan to attend Kansas State University. They have wonderful nutrition and biochemistry programs and a very unique leadership studies program that is offered as a minor. When I started looking at colleges, I was overwhelmed with choices. I happened to go on one campus visit - K-State - and I decided to stop looking. I was really impressed with everything there – the friendly attitude of the students, the attentiveness of the faculty, everything!
