  • Fishing at George Owens Nature Park

    • email print
  • Almost as soon as fishing season began, I not only found the butterflies are friendly, but the flowers are beautiful and the new center should be done by winter at George Owens Nature Park in Independence.
The real interesting topic here is that the fishing is superior, with accommodating bench seating on a lot of the lake. My best days so far have been in June using night crawlers on the bottom. I’ve caught lots of descent size bluegill, and have caught my two bass and one nice channel cat each time I go out there to fish.
I have to tell you this is the place to have a blast. There are also turtles in the lodge, and George Owens personnel that will help you with questions.
