  • Boys enjoy summmer fun at Cub Scout Day Camp

  • Over 325 Cub Scouts and 200 adult leaders from Eastern Jackson County enjoyed the summer weather at American Legion Park in Blue Springs during the 37th Annual Blue Elk District Day Camp this week. In addition to 22 Cub Scout activity areas, there was a separate Webelos Program.
    Archery, BB guns, crafts, cooking, fishing, sling shots, monkey bridge, sports, knot tying, rubber band guns, training in flag etiquette , water games and a zip line called the Bosun Chair, were part of the program.
    The Blue Elk District of the Boy Scouts of America includes Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Buckner, Sibley, and Sugar Creek. Scouting is a year round program, if you are interested in joining Cub Scouts call 816-942-9333 for information.
