“Real Heroes”, police, military, fire and EMT’s, will be honored at New Life Assembly Church in Oak Grove. The event will begin at 10 a.m. July 27 at the church, 801 S.W. First St.

There will be a barbecue lunch, giveaways, military/fire/EMS/police vehicles on display, bounce houses for the kids and pictures and autographs with special guests, Retired U.S. Army Col. Teddy Bitner, Willie Wilson (1985 Royals World Series Champion), and KC Wolf (official mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs).

The following Veterans of Foreign Wars posts from the 5th District will also hold a veterans service, Posts 30, 5789, 1829 and 6603. They will also do an honor guard for the service. After the service, Col. Bitner will perform a Bike Blessing for all motorcycles present.
