Recent Blue Springs South graduate Colton Pogue nabbed another honor.

Pogue, who earlier this month was named to the USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA Missouri Baseball Team at shortstop, has also been named to the All-Midwest Regional First Team by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association. The Region 5 team consists of players from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and North Dakota.

The future Western Illinois University player hit .441 in his senior season with South. He clubbed seven home runs and 15 doubles and finished with 35 RBIs, 43 runs scored and a .784 slugging percentage to help the Jaguars to a third-place finish in the Class 5 state tournament.

Pogue was also a first-team Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state choice, the Suburban Big Six Conference Player of the Year and The Examiner Player of the Year.
