  • The city of Grain Valley is hosting a coed softball tournament to raise money for those in need, and it still needs more teams to register by Friday.
The 14th Annual Feed the Need Coed Softball Tournament is slated for Saturday, Aug. 9, at Monkey Mountain Sporting Complex, East Old Highway 40 in Grain Valley. Games will start at 9 a.m. All proceeds go toward helping the Grain Valley Assistance Council, and there is a $275 entry fee per team.

The tournament will also adhere to ASA rules with tournament variations. Teams must have at least eight players to start a game and a maximum of 10 players on the field at one time. Alcohol beverages of any kind are not allowed on park property. Medals and trophies are given to the first place team.
