Kathy Troia-Morehouse was named Preceptor Alpha Tau's woman of the year at a luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn. Kathy has done many things this last year to earn this wonderful honor and was surprised when it was announced. She was honored later with a dinner and collectors snow globe.

The new officers installed for the coming year are: President, Kathy Troia-Morehouse of Raytown; vice president, Cathy Baker of Independence; treasurer, Sandy Lee of Independence; recording secretary, Marie Robertson of Independence; corresponding secretary, Cheryl Brooks of Overland Park; and adviser, Cindy Parkes of Independence.

Three new members have gone through new member rituals and are now in new member pledge training being held by Vice President Cathy Baker. Preceptor Alpha Tau welcomes Julia Bishop of Lee's Summit, and Melissa Burt and Pam Garcia of Independence. Congrats to these ladies and they are looking forward to completing training this fall.

Preceptor Alpha Tau met in June to make plans for the upcoming year, which includes service and social events for the next year. The Mexican-themed dinner was at the home of Cindy Parkes. Social for this next year will be headed up by Jane Miller and Angie Harris and Service will be headed up by Courtney Wall. In July, they went to Union Station to see King Tut and enjoyed lunch at Rosedale Barbecue.
