The Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce’s theme is “Cornerstone for Business,” and the organization boasts its dedication to the success of its businesses.

The organization, representing more than 440 members, provides programs that promote businesses and encourage local shopping. Its main function is the networking opportunities that it offers to its employees. It provides networking through functions such as business card exchanges, monthly membership luncheons and  joining committees or the Chamber Connectors.

“The community is what we’re all about,” said Chairman Dena McLean.
Currently, the Blue Springs Chamber is going through an accreditation process through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to make sure its policies and processes are efficient and proper, McLean said.

The organization is also working on a community branding project through unifying the business community for the city of Blue Springs.

The office at 1000 Main St., across from City Hall, hosts business showcases and expos for new businesses, as well as a leadership training event to teach professional skills.

“We provide a foundation where businesses can grow and prosper,” McLean said.
The organization also sponsors several annual events, including Fall Fun Fest, a 5k run, a golf tournament, a holiday brunch and an administrative professional luncheon. It also provides support for many community events, such as Friday Night Street Flicks, Boo Fest, and the Concert in the Park series.

“You name it, we support it...in some way,” McLean said.

The Blue Springs Chamber strives to promote the community and represent the City of Blue Springs in an accurate manner, McLean said.
Fees for joining for a business start at $250 and increase with business size. Individual fees are $175.
