Blue Springs police on lookout for two suspects

Two Blue Springs residents were robbed and assaulted early Sunday morning.

According to the Blue Springs Police Department, officers arrived at the home in the 300 block of Northeast Highland Lane about 5 a.m. to investigate a home invasion armed robbery. There they found a 24-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, who had been assaulted with a knife.
 
Both were taken to a hospital for medical treatment, but neither received life-threatening injuries.
 
The suspects in the assault are two white men, 25 to 35 years old. They might have left the scene in a silver and brown 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with the license plate ME4X3A.
