The Missouri Business Development Program has several upcoming workshops:
• The Basics of Writing a Business Plan will include tips on writing style to make a business plan easier to understand and more professional looking. The class is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 13 at Mid-Continent Public Library Boardwalk Branch, 8656 N. Ambassador Drive, Kansas City.

• Starting and Managing a Business is an eight-hour class on the basics of starting and managing a small business in Missouri. The class is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 22 at the University of Central Missouri Summit Center, 850 N.W. Chipman Road, Lee’s Summit.

• Listening to Your Business is includes a four-step process: Setting Your Three-year Vision, Taking a Snapshot of Your Business, Evaluating Where You are in the Planning Process, Translating Your Goals into Action Steps. This workshop is based on the FastTrac® business development programs.
The class is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Bloch School of Business. The institute is at 4747 Troost, Kansas City, across from the Missouri Department of Conversation Discovery Center.

• First Steps to Starting a Business will give each participant the opportunity to assess their strengths and weaknesses, learn about the importance of planning, and discuss legal structures and regulatory requirements. The class is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 20 at Mid-Continent Public Library Boardwalk Branch, 8656 N. Ambassador Drive, Kansas City.

• The first session of Tech Tools Lunch ‘n Learn will focus on tech tools. Participants will learn more on how to use the online world in business.
It’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Bloch School of Business. The institute is at 4747 Troost, Kansas City, across from the Missouri Department of Conversation Discovery Center.
Each of these classes is $35 or $175 for the entire series. Lunch is provided.
