Independence offers shopping relief

Are your children complaining about chronic boredom while you do your holiday shopping? Do you wish for a safe, fun refuge for them so you can get some serious holiday shopping done?


If so, Independence officials suggest you bring your children ages 7 through 12 to the Independence Parks and Recreation’s Parents Shopping Day Out from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Truman Memorial Building, 416 W. Maple.


Children can participate in crafts, sports such as basketball, floor hockey, dodge ball, Frisbee, and indoor soccer and more. Snacks and drinks will be provided.


The Parks and Recreation staff will supervise all activities. The fee is $20 per child. To register or for more information call 816-325 -7843.
