Grain Valley chamber officers are named

The Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce has named its 2010 executive board. Its members are Zach Pross, president; Lorri Wilbee-Kobe, vice president; Eddie Saffell, secretary; and Suzanna Ogden, treasurer.

New Radio Shack open on Sterling

RadioShack Corp. has opened a store at 4281 Sterling Ave., one of 29 company-operated stores in greater Kansas City.


The consumer electronics company, based in Fort Worth, Texas, has approximately 4,450 company-operated stores in the U.S., 1,400 dealer outlets, nearly 600 wireless phone kiosks and approximately 200 company-operated stores in Mexico.

Lake City plant gets ammunition order

Alliant Techsystems, which operates the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, has received an additional $93 million in orders for small-caliber ammunition. The orders are for 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50-caliber ammunition. ATK, based in Minneapolis, Minn., is the largest supplier of ammunition to the United States military. ATK has run Lake City since 2000, and in fiscal year 2009 Lake City delivered 1.4 billion rounds of ammunition.

Leslie Ogden of Blue Springs and Briana Carrender of Buckner have won honors for the lia sophia Excellent Beginnings Program for their sales accomplishments.
