This first half of the second decade of the 21st century is filled with 150th anniversaries of the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln’s presidency.

Today’s anniversary is ESPECIALLY NOTABLE:

One hundred and fifty years ago, on Jan. 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln presided over the annual White House New Year’s reception.
