Dwayne Bowe MIA for Chiefs'

It is what it is.

Romeo Crennel can only regulate whose practicing. It still doesn't include Dwayne Bowe. Former Chief Richard Baldinger told 610 Sports the biggest thing he took away from OTA's was how the team was bonding.

With a light practice and no pads chemistry is the primary building block you'd like to establish from these early practices.

"Well, you like to have your good players with you because every year you have to develop a new team chemistry, so he's missing this opportunity to grow and develop with his teammates," Crennel told the media after practice today on missing Dwayne Bowe. "There is nothing that I can do about that. It's just the nature of the beast that we're dealing with. I think that he will be here eventually. When he gets here, we'll have to try to catch him up, and he'll have to work at it to get up to speed. Then we'll see if he can help us at that time."

This season Kansas City needs every opportunity for Matt Cassel and Bowe to develop that interaction.

Second-year player Jonathan Baldwin is doing well, but Kansas City can’t depend on him at number one. Not yet, it's still the Bowe show.

Factor in that of the 12 teams that made the playoffs last season seven were top 10 in passing. The New York Giants were No.5 and the New England Patriots No.2.

The Chiefs are built to run but that’s not the current trend. The NFL had 951 passing plays over 25 yards last season an NFL record. There were 10 4K passing clubs just the second time in a decade that’s happened.

As much as Chief fans would like both Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis to run rough-shot over the AFC West Kansas City has to pass the ball.

The longer it takes, the more Bowe will have to work it out. But there's another player affected by Bowe's absence and that's Cassel. Bowe hasn't learned what Brian Daboll has for him.

A lot to consider for Bowe and Scott Pioli. I don't know who holds the upper hand, but overall it's not good for the team. That should be the main thing. That's how I think.

For the sake of team it'd be nice if the two could compromise on the contract. Very idealistic, but the clock is ticking for this unity thing to happen between Bowe and Cassel.

Once the season starts the coaching is nearly done. It's about playing then. Fans already saw what last season was like with a shortened off-season. I'd like to see the passing game take flight sooner rather than later. No Chief fan wants to go through another 13 points a game.

Bowe needs to be in practice.

Good day, Chief fans!
