There's a lot that makes Eric Berry tick, I've noticed that with Berry. He's a thinker and into nostalgia.

Berry has been with the Chiefs just two seasons, but he'll reminisce over the history of Kansas City. Of all the commercials from the different player's even coach Romeo Crennel talking about Arrowhead and the fans Eric Berry's is the most believable.

Every time Eric Berry talks about the 12th man, the season ticketholders and how long people have been sitting in their seats I trust him.

Honestly, when a player talks the way Berry talks and acts the way a player like Berry acts I don't mind the pay. If a player like Berry gets the big bucks it doesn't bother me, he's the total package. I think that's why fans aren't totally sold on Dwayne Bowe. Bowe hasn't sold himself or emphasized the importance of Arrowhead.

When Derrick Thomas played it never crossed my mind how much he was paid or if he was worth it. DT meant that much to Kansas City and to the fans. As a Chiefs fan I couldn't see the Chiefs without Derrick Thomas.

Eric Berry is becoming that sort of player, at least to me. Berry gets it. Berry believes in Arrowhead, the 12th man and it matters to Berry when KC doesn't win at home. I like that in a Chiefs player.

In order for Kansas City to do well this season they have to win at home. Marty Schottenheimer would tell his players to win at home and win at least half their road games to make the playoffs. In Schottenheimer's time with Kansas City it worked. Kansas City winning the majority of their games at Arrowhead became common. Fans expected it, and I got used to it.

Even Dick Vermeil had it down, Kansas City won at home.

But it wasn't just winning at Arrowhead it was about having the right attitude at Arrowhead for past greats. We've been missing players with that kind of arrogance, Eric Berry is one and proud of Arrowhead.

Berry has the right outlook towards a team coming into Arrowhead. Even in Berry's first season as a rookie he reminded veteran teammates how important it was to win at home. It shouldn't be the rookie leading but Berry did. He still is.

Berry takes "our house" to heart.

Berry has the sense of ownership at Arrowhead. It's just not a place to play, or another Stadium while getting paid, to Berry its home and fans are family.

Again, Eric Berry gets it. With Atlanta coming into Arrowhead the forecast is gloomy. I've seen other teams rolling high enter Arrowhead and get disappointed, but it starts with the right home attitude.

If Berry has anything to say about Matt Ryan and crew he will. Let's hope rest listen!
