"When I think about how we live our lives as human beings, and even as Christian, I think a lot of the times, we put our hope in things that are false. We believe in things that aren't true," Chiefs' kicker Ryan Succop said at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes event that took place earlier this month, according to The Cass County Democrat report. "I don't stand here and preach perfection because I got plenty of things in my life that I want to work on, that I battle. At the end of the day, God's grace is sufficient."

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, called "Fields of Faith", targets various cities with different Christian athletes sharing their faith with students. At Succop's recent appearance, he revealed how he came to make Jesus Christ a priority in his life.

He's a Christian, doesn't me. Ray Lewis is a Christian, should hear the guy speak.

Tim Tebow was skinned and cooked over his faith. Tebow was more in the public eye than Succop, but in my time in the locker room I've noticed things about certain players. The way they act, talk and handle each game. There's quality players in the Chiefs' locker room still. They're losing, but they're people. Various kinds. People of faith and those doing the best they can, but Scott Pioli went after team captains and leader types. The kind that hopefully stand up and lead when times are tough.

As a Christian I try to keep it about the bigger picture, keep perspective. Life's short, so Succop knows it's important to wrap yourself around things that truly matter, stuff that takes a lifetime to appreciate. In Succops case eternity.

I'm not against upset Chiefs fans, there's change's needed. I've been at the games this season...all of the home games at Arrowhead Stadium. It's getting empty, a lot more red seats at the start than I'm used to. The 12th man is getting skinny.

Be upset and fans should speak up when it's gotten bad. That's America. The way it's supposed to work.

But let's give these players a cheer still. Let's back them as people playing a hard physical game. I think the Chiefs can do much better. Why they're not I'm not sure of. I like most asking why. I'll pull a Romeo Crennel," I don't understand what's happening".

Hopefully on 10/28 Arrowhead has more red than black hoodie fans.

I wanted to share this nugget from Succop. Think it says something about the players that wear the red and gold.
