Was looking at the numbers from 2010 compared to 2012 on Matt Cassel…
2010 games 1-3 494 yards, 4 TD's/3 INT's and 55% completion
2012 games 1-3 807 yards, 3 TD's/4 INT's and 59% completion

The 2010 Cassel finished with 27 TD’s/7 INT’s and a passer rating of 93. Can 2012 Cassel be as good or better than the 2010 Cassel? With the win against the Saints it could change things, Cassel just might benefit from the synergy that comes from a win like that.
No doubt Brian Daboll is passing the ball more than in 2010. Cassel already has 119 pass attempts, 42 more than 2010. Cassel’s completion percentage is also up in the the first three games compared to 2010 with a 59 percent (32 more completions than in 2010 games 1-3).
The defense gave up just 38 points in first three in 2010 versus the 99 now. It’s easy to punch on Cassel, his throws aren’t pretty…he’s not the best at spreading it around. There’s faults, but the Chiefs have to play better defense. Those 99 points have been the biggest problem, not Cassel.
Are there QB’s playing better right now? Yes, is there QB’s I’d rather have? Yes. Was I not happy with the way Cassel played against the Saints. Yes to that too.
Just trying to present another side to things, because there’s also the possibility Cassel turns it around and has a good enough season providing the rest catch fire.
It’s possible, that’s all I’m saying. Visit us @ chiefconcerns.com
