On my way back from court this morning, I heard on NPR a discussion of a poll, I think that they said AP, of 1000 freakoid voters, about the fiscal cliff issue. Even within the core constituency of deluded democrats, 42% said that attempts to add new spending into the fiscal cliff avoidance discussions were “disappointing” while another 17% called it “unhelpful.” Another 15% said that the best way to deal with it was to simply allow the original legislation to go into effect, since it was designed to hit everybody equally, is essentially apolitical and it will save us all the grief of hearing the politicians posturing for the next two weeks.
