What is American Archives Month? It is a month to recognize the importance of archives in preserving history and providing access to materials. Archivists help to ensure that these materials will be preserved for future generations to research.
In honor of American Archives month, I would like to highlight the Midwest Genealogy Center’s archives. MCG has a great collection of materials within our archives, ranging from family charts and family history to obituaries from the Independence Examiner. MGC also has materials relating to the history of Jackson, Clay, and Platte counties in Missouri as well as other areas of the United States. The archives are located on the second floor in the southeast corner.
Starting the week of October 8th, we will have a display showcasing our archives. Please stop by our branch and discover MGC’s archives for yourself!
