Have you ever thought of traveling but were concerned about the time and expense? Would you like to get a taste of the whole world in just one place? Moreover, would you like to spice up and enrich your genealogy research? Then you need to visit the Ethnic Enrichment Festival in Swope Park this weekend. The festival runs from Friday, August 17, 2012 through Sunday, August 19, 2012.
Almost every country in the world has its own booth there. You can just walk around and enjoy the lively colorful atmosphere, filled with a variety of music and dancing. The festival has a rich and diverse program every day. While you’re there, be sure and catch the Parade of Flags and the Traditional Fashions of the World.
You can even meet people in the community who may share the same heritage as you. These are people whose ancestors came to the U.S. from the same country or territory as your ancestors. Just stop by the booth with the name of the country where your ancestors came from to begin your journey.
So, be ready to travel (without a passport) and learn more about the world at the Ethnic Enrichment Festival at Swope Park. To learn more about the festival and its schedule go to: http://eeckc.org.
