David Cook will be in Kansas City for the American Idol tour Friday and Saturday, and Blue Springs officials hope he'll be able to stop by his hometown.

Cook, who was named the seventh winner of the popular show, is expected to help the city unveil the most recent piece of public art - a mural in tribute of the city's newest star.

The mural unveiling will be at noon in downtown.
