JE Dunn Corporation and NKC Iron and Metal will present the Independence School District a check for $39,000 on Monday at 9 a.m. The check represents tons of copper, steel and aluminum salvaged from the former Independence Regional Hospital by JE Dunn workers.

Under the direction of JE Dunn Superintendent Marvin Griffin, workers combed the facility for salvageable items, which will now be recycled as part of the Independence School District’s “GO GREEN” campaign.

Copper, steel and aluminum were transported to NKC Iron and Metal during the renovation.
