Academic All-Stars: Cara Hartwig

SCHOOL: Blue Springs High School
HONORS: Top 1 percent; named to the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school; received Columbia Book Award; Bright Flight Scholar; member of the National Honor Society.
ACTIVITIES: Member of DECA; state officer for DECA; member of the marching band and Hi-Step; member of Young Democrats; involved with church choir.

What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?
Get involved. Find something you love to do. It will make your high school experience that much more memorable.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Kelly Fowler. She was and still is always there for me, helping me to succeed.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
DECA, it’s my passion. I love everything about it.

What college do you plan to attend and why?
Mizzou. It has a great business program, and I’ve always been a Tiger.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
Enjoying life. No matter where I am in 10 years, I know I’ll live every day to the fullest.
