Eastern Jackson County, MO —

Almost 600 students and Bingham Middle School received quite a surprise Wednesday when the Missouri Mavericks unveiled their new mascot,  which does not have a name yet. The mascot threw out Frisbees and “horsed around” with the students during the assembly, and later visited Voy Spears Elementary in the Blue Springs School District. During the assembly, Mavericks player Kyle Bochek and assistant general manager Joe Greene spoke to students about integrity, the CHARACTERplus Trait of the Month. The Mavericks will have a fan poll to help in the naming process. The poll will run through opening weekend on the Maverick’s official Web site, www.missouriMavericks.com.

Single game tickets are now on sale for all 32 of the Maverick’s home games. Season tickets, group tickets and mini-plans are available by calling the Mavericks front office 816-252-7825. Information is also available at the Maverick’s Web site, www.missouriMavericks.com.
