Students at Nativity of Mary Catholic School recently participated in the KC Kids Marathon, which was a part of the Waddell & Reed Marathon Oct. 17.
The kids part of the marathon allowed students, 5 to 15 years old, to participate.
Between mid-September and mid-October these students worked hard to complete the first 25 miles of their marathon by accumulating their mileage a little at a time. The school hosted a “running club” that met before and after school and on some weekends to allow the students time to accumulate their mileage.
Then, the students went to Crown Center to complete their marathon and ran the last 1.2 miles together as a group with other students from throughout the metropolitan area.
