Greg and Linda Smothers of Smithville, Mo., would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberlea Smothers, to Chad Dupuis, son of Victor and Brandy Dupuis of Independence.
Miss Smothers, a 2003 graduate of Truman High School, received a bachelor’s degree in radiologic science from Avila University. Kimberlea is attending Washburn University, with plans of graduating in July 2009 as a radiation therapist.
Her fiancé, a 2002 graduate of Truman, received a bachelor’s degree in business, with an emphasis of finance, from Park University. Chad is employed by Commerce Bank.
An Oct. 18, 2008, wedding is planned at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence.
