Sandy and Bob Edson of Broomfield, Colo., and Steve Freeman of Independence, wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacy Elizabeth Freeman, to Vinit Vinayak Patil, son of Dr. Vinayak and Vidya Patil of Maharastra, India.
Miss Freeman received a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in biology from Missouri State University, and her master’s degree in biology from MSU. Stacy is a research assistant at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Her fiancé received a master’s degree in biology from MSU, and his M.D. from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College. Vinit is pursuing his Ph.D. in translational biology and molecular medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
An Oct. 5, 2008, wedding is planned at The Loretto in Kansas City.
