The 2008 American Royal Rib Festival will be held through Saturday at Kemper Arena, 1800 Genessee in Kansas City. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
The event features award-winning barbecue from across the nation, live music from top recording artists and a number of other festivities. This event is open to the public, and food and beverage can be purchased on-site.
Saturday’s music lineup will include The Elms, The Fabulous Motown Revue, The Alan Parsons Live Project, Soul Asylum and Los Lonely Boys. Sunday will feature The Lee Boys, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Blackfoot and Dennis DeYoung presenting the music of Styx.
Admission is free before 1 p.m. and $5 afterwards. Children 12 and under are free.
