The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, in its 16th season, presents “Othello,” the first professional production of the play in Kansas City in 20 years. The festival runs through July 6 every night, except July 4 in Southmoreland Park, 47th Street and Oak Street in Kansas City.
Gates open at 6 p.m. with Paul Mesner Puppets at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m., Show Talk at 7 p.m. and “Othello” at 8. The running time is approximately two-and-a-half hours with a 10-minute intermission.
Damon Gupton, associate conductor of the Kansas City Symphony and a Julliard-trained actor, is featured in the title role.
Admission to the festival is free.
