As a musician, you spend countless hours honing your performance skills, but once you leave the practice room, how do you turn those performance skills into work? This workshop, presented by jazz guitarist and educator Mark Tonelli, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Gem Theatre in Kansas City.
The workshop will explore the tools and strategies that musicians can use to conceive of themselves as a business and translate their hard-earned performance skills into a sustainable career. Topics will include goal setting, time management, networking, wearing different hats, multiple income streams, and budgeting. Come learn how to create opportunities for yourself in the music industry and transform them into a life in music.
