Blue Springs Bowl, 1225 U.S. 40 – On March 6, the microwave in the kitchen had an accumulation of food residues inside; corrected.
Conoco Travel Center, 723 Main St. – On March 3, dead mice were found in the back prep area; re-inspection required.
MaMa China Restaurant, 6623 Raytown Road – On Feb. 1, the sanitizer in the bucket was tested at 200 ppm; corrected.
Hy-Vee Kitchen/Italian/Chinese /Salad Bar/Deli, 9400 E. M-350 – On Feb. 2, a dark build-up was found on a soda nozzle at the bar; repeat violation, re-inspection required. Rotisserie chickens being held in a warmer were 120; re-inspection required.
Breakfast & Lunch Lovers, 6204 Raytown Trafficway – On Feb. 3, inspectors found undated food, corrected.
Premier Bowling & Recreation Center, 11400 E. M-350 – On Feb. 3, there was a build-up in the soda nozzle/nozzle holder behind the bar; corrected. An employee was observed changing jobs without washing hands (cashier to food prep); corrected.
Herndon Career Center Culinary Kitchen, 11501 E. M-350 – On Feb. 3, mouse droppings were observed in the dry storage room.
Los Compas Mexican Restaurant, 9055 E. M-350 – On Feb. 6, chemicals were being stored with food and on prep areas, and open employee drinks were stored above cleaned dishes and on prep tables; both were corrected. Food being held in the walk-in cooler were not date marked; re-inspection required. Food being held in a reach-in cooler was 41 degrees; all potentially hazardous food was discarded, re-inspection required.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, 7601 Raytown Road – On Feb. 6, the ice bucket was stored inverted on an uncleaned surface and soda nozzles in the dining room had a build-up of food/debris; corrected.
Sonic Drive-In, 6525 Raytown Road – On Feb. 13, soda nozzles had a build-up of food/debris; corrected.
Sonic Drive-In, 9014 E. M-350 – On Feb. 15, chemicals were stored on a prep table and with single service items; corrected.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, 9205 E. M-350 – On Feb. 17, guacamole on the ready make table was above 41 degrees; corrected.
Taco Bell, 9021 E. M-350 – On Feb. 17, there was a build-up of food/debris in soda nozzles by the drive-thru; corrected.
Easy Pickin, 8900 E. M-350 – On Feb. 22, mouse droppings were observed in a cabinet and on floors; re-inspection required. There was a black build-up on the top interior of the ice machine and buildup of food/debris on soda nozzles and fountain ice chutes; re-inspection required.
Wendy's, 9708 E. 63rd St. – On Feb. 22, ice buckets were stored inverted on a dirty surface; re-inspection required. Raw eggs were stored on burritos on a prep table; corrected. Foods in a ready-make table were being held above 41 degrees; re-inspection required.
NewZroom 2 Cafe, 6020 Blue Ridge Blvd. – On Feb. 24, ready-to-eat foods were found undated in the reach-in cooler; corrected.
87th Street Conoco (Sinclair), 8701 Raytown Road – On Feb. 24, food stored in the was warmer under 135 degrees; manager did not know whether time or temperature as a control was being used, there was no time log, re-inspection required.
Dirty Don's Bargain Center, 9700 E. 56th St. – On Feb. 27, mouse droppings were observed on packages of food available for sale; discarded, and packages of food inside of sealed boxes were removed from the contaminated packaging.
Fun House Pizza & Pub, 9120 E. M-350 – On Feb. 27, foods being held in a reach-in cooler were above 41 degrees; re-inspection required. The ice bucket and scoop were being stored on dirty surfaces; repeat violation, re-inspection required.
Jeong's Canton Chinese Restaurant, 5238 Blue Ridge Blvd. – On Feb. 28, raw chicken was stored above broccoli in a reach-in cooler; corrected. A reach-in cooler was holding food above 41 degrees; re-inspection required.
Spanky's Bar and Grill, 5230 Blue Ridge Blvd. – On Feb. 28, chemicals were stored with single service items; corrected.
Extreme Grand Prix, 6731 Blue Ridge Blvd. – On March 7, inspectors found several unlabeled chemical bottles in the kitchen area, chemicals were stored over/with single service items, and mouse droppings were observed throughout the kitchen area; re-inspection required for all violations.
Dairy Queen, 400 S. Douglas St. – On March 2, an employee was observed using the same set of tongs to grab raw hamburger patties and then to flip cooked patties. The sanitizing solution in the 3-compartment sink did not have a measurable amount of QUAT sanitizer.
Doc's Tavern, 511 S.E. Melody Lane – On March 2, food in the small standing cooler on the cook's line was past the 7 day safety timeframe, food in the small standing cooler on the line was not date marked, and food in the reach-in cooler in the backroom was not date marked; all potentially hazardous foods was discarded. Shell eggs were stored above condiments in the back reach-in cooler and raw chicken was stored next to raw bacon and above raw hamburger meat. The beverage gun nozzle had some brown build-up.
Mr. Goodcents Subs and Pasta, 1321 N.E. Douglas St. – On March 2, foods stored in ready-make tables were above 41 degrees; re-inspection required.
Sarpino's Pizzeria, 506J S.E. M-291 – On March 2, an employee was observed putting on gloves without washing his hands and continued to handle food, and an employee was not changing gloves after handling an unsanitary surface (cell phone) and continued to handle food/single-use container.
Stuey McBrews, 321 S.E. Main St. – On March 2, soda nozzles had a build-up of dirt/debris; corrected. Bottles of chemical were found unlabeled; corrected. The dish washer behind the bar tested at 0ppm chlorine sanitizer; repair person serviced/repaired dish washer during inspection.
Wendy's, 903 W. Chipman Road – On March 2, an employee touched cooked hamburgers with his bare hand; corrected through discussion and patties were discarded.
Young's Chinese & Sushi, 601 N.E. Woods Chapel Road – On March 2, soda nozzles had a build-up of food/debris; corrected.
China Wok, 209 S.W. Greenwich Drive – On March 3, raw chicken was stored above cooked noodles and crab rangoon filling in the walk-in cooler.
Master Wok Xpress, 1100 N.E. Douglas St. – On March 3, dented cans were observed on the can rack. The meat slicer had an accumulation of food residue and the can opener had an accumulation of food residue; both were corrected.
Shamrock Hills Golf Club, 3161 S. M-291 – On March 3, inspectors noticed unlabeled chemical spray bottles.
Subway, 3532 S.W. Market St. – On March 3, residue build-up was observed in the soda fountain nozzles.
Tacos El Mercadito, 531 S.E. Melody Lane – On March 3, raw pork and fish were thawing out in the same sink together; corrected.
Temp Stop, 1101 N.E. Rice Road – On March 3, the soda nozzles were dirty. The establishment does not have a hand sink conveniently located by the ware washing area; re-inspection is required.
The Smoothie Shop & Supplements, 1219 N.E. Rice Road – On March 6, an employee was observed engaging in food preparation without washing hands.
