American Military Timeline will be presented from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 20, and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 21 at Fort Osage National Historic Site, 107 Osage St., Sibley.

Jackson County Parks & Recreation invites you to spend Armed Forces Day celebrating 200 years of the American soldier. The Fort was established as a military post and trading factory by legendary explorer William Clark in 1808 and played a pivotal role in early American westward expansion. Visitors will hear from a re-enactor portraying Captain Eli Clemson, the Commander of the Fort from 1808-1813, and explore encampments and exhibits featuring re-enactors portraying soldiers from the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II.

Admission is $8 for adults, and $4 for youth and seniors. For more information, visit
