As the first day of school quickly approaches, Independence Center has all the answers to alleviate families’ back-to-school stress with a “Back-to-School” event during this year’s sales tax holiday weekend.

On Aug. 4 through 6, Independence Center will be participating in the state’s tax-free weekend, with savings on all back-to-school must-have items including clothing, school supplies and computers. Additionally, the mall will be hosting its “Back-to-School” event from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5, hosting in-mall activities to help families earn an A+ in preparedness for the first day of school.

Located in the lower level near Dillard’s, this end-of-summer celebration invites youngsters and their families to participate in DIY workshops, a festive photo booth, balloon artist and much more. DIY workshops will cover a wide variety of topics, such as how to personalize and accessorize your backpack.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the Independence Center back-to-school passport, earning stamps by visiting spotlighted retailers for the chance to win a special giveaway, no in-store purchase needed.

Independence Center will be having extended hours on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
