• Simple Steps to Starting Your Business, 10 a.m. Aug. 5. Explore what it takes to start a business with expert advice from SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). Experienced SCORE volunteers offer an overview for starting a business, outline the advantages and disadvantages of owning a business, identify the most profitable businesses, explore the key factors to start-up success, and cover the fundamentals of forming, organizing, marketing, and funding your venture.
• Book Group, for adults, 7 p.m. Aug. 7. Come meet like-minded people, enjoy lively discussion, learn which books inspire others, and talk about your favorite books.
• Marketing for Existing or Start-Up Small Businesses, 10 a.m. Aug. 12. Learn the basic principles of marketing a small business with help from SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). SCORE volunteer Paulette Crawford offers a practical approach to marketing with methods and tools to maximize your customer reach. Find out about pricing, positioning, the difference between features and benefits, and different marketing strategies.
• Storytime for Preschoolers, 10 a.m. Aug. 16, 23 and 30. Visit the Library for an exciting and unique storytime journey. We'll explore the first steps toward reading readiness for you and your preschooler. Designed for preschoolers between 3 and 5 years old and their caregivers.
