The City of Independence Environmental Health Division conducts inspections anywhere food is handled, prepared and served to the public within city limits. Critical violations must be handled within 72 hours.
Master Wok, 4810 S. Arrowhead Drive – On Aug. 23, an employee beverage was found on the prep table without a lid or straw; this is a constant problem. There was no sanitized water on the cook line; repeat violation, this is the final warning, the next violation will result in the owner of the establishment being issued a ticket. A jar of burn ointment was found on the top of the make table.
Cafe Verona, 206 W. Lexington Ave. – On Aug. 24, the hand sink on the cook line was blocked by a cart and fish was being thawed in the hand sink on the cook line.
Salty Iguana, 17717 E. U.S. 40 – On Aug. 24, the paper towel and soap dispensers at hand sink in the ware washing area were empty.
Hereford House, 19721 E. Jackson Drive – On Aug. 29, items on the hot line were out of temperature and sent back to be reheated to 165 degrees.
