You’ll find Missouri Department of Conservation staff and volunteers channeling characters from Dr. Suess on Oct. 7 to explain the harmless habits of strange creatures found amid the woods and wildflowers at Burr Oak Woods Nature Center, 1401 N.W. Park Road, Blue Springs.

Let not the things that crawl, hop, or slither cause undue fright, instead, visit Burr Oak Woods and learn more about these fascinating creatures. This event will be offered from 3:30 to 9 p.m., however, advance registration is required and attendees will be scheduled for a trail tour time. Trail tours will depart every 15 minutes and last 45 minutes. The last tour will depart at 8:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome for the free event. Also, visitors can tour stations offering crafts and animal exhibits. Burr Oak Woods also offers an aquarium with native fish, interactive nature exhibits, and hiking trails. For more information or to register, call 816-228-3766.
