The Blue Springs North Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library is offering the following activities for the month of October. The library is located at 850 N.W. Hunter Drive. All activities are free, but registration is required, call 816-224-8772.

• How to Design a Webpage, for adults, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2. Expert web designer Chad McAtee offers an introduction on the foundational web technology used to create functional webpages with text and graphics using markup languages such as HTML. He also explores using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to stylize web content.

• Beginning Paranormal Research, for teens, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3. Do you think you may have had a paranormal experience? Are you interested in haunted places? Learn the basics of ghost hunting and paranormal investigations from experienced researcher Becky Ray.

• Tricks and Treats: Magic with Eric Vaughn, for all ages, 10 a.m. Oct. 7. Halloween has never had so many creepy tricks or brain-teasing treats as magician Eric Vaughn opens his bagful of not-so-super-scary-but-definitely-spooky magic. Only the bravest of participants need volunteer. Boo!

• Warm from the Oven, for adults, 7 p.m. Oct. 12. Join an award-winning culinary team to learn how to make mouth-watering, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls. This hands-on instructional class will take you through the steps of making the dough, rolling the rolls, and creating a sweet icing from scratch. Each participant will leave with a pan full of doughy goodness to take home and bake.

• Accessing eBooks with OverDrive, for adults, 2 p.m. Oct. 16. Can’t find a book on the shelf? Try looking in our digital collection! Learn the steps to searching and checking out an eBook through OverDrive Digital Downloads and reading it on your computer or device.

• Frankenstein – Live!, for adults, 7 p.m. Oct. 17. Dr. Frankenstein recounts his story revealing the truth behind his creation and the irreversible horrors he unleashed in this unique adaptation by Hampstead Stage. You will ask, “Who is the real monster?”

• Teen Anime, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Join fellow fanatics for fun!

• Teen Lock-in, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27. When the branch shuts down, it’s time to party it up! Permission slip required.
