The Independence Branch of the American Association of University Women launched their 2017-2018 program year Sept. 26, in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church, 400 W. Maple Ave., Independence.
AAUW program committee members planned an exciting program year for an enthusiastic membership. The meeting began at 6 p.m. as members and guests gathered, and an always delicious potluck dinner was enjoyed at 6:30 p.m. by the membership. Then at 7 p.m., Karen Francis present an interesting program on AAUW Public Policy 101. Karen is the National AAUW Public Policy Chair and she explained what we are doing at the national, state and local levels.
