Due to bad weather on Oct. 21, Jackson County Parks and Recreation has rescheduled Dogtober Fest to Oct. 29.

You're invited to bring your best friend and celebrate all things canine at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 29, 8201 S. Jasper Bell, Blue Springs.

There will be dock diving, Frisbee catching, bobbing for biscuits, sack races, “working dogs,” Halloween costume contest, and much more. Information booths include: Adopt-A-Pet, breed clubs, pet resorts, doggie day care, training clubs, service dog, groomers, veterinarians and more. Demonstrations include police dogs, search and rescue dogs, sheep herding, draft and carting, lure coursing, agility and water rescue.
