Thousands of local breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and corporate and community members are uniting to save lives and ensure no one faces breast cancer alone at the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 3K-mile walk on Oct. 28. The walk starts at Crown Center, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m., and the walk at 9 a.m., 2405 Grand Blvd., Kansas City.
This noncompetitive, inspirational event raises awareness and funds for a world without breast cancer. Some notable attendees include Carolyn Long with KCTV5, Jenny Matthews with Mix 93.3, Frank White Jr., the McCarthy family with McCarthy auto group, Portraits of Hope Ambassadors, and Danny Clinkscale with 810 Sports.
Last year, 12,000 participants raised more than $320,000 in Kansas City for the American Cancer Society to invest in groundbreaking research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
This event will take place rain or shine.
