Thanksgiving Fun: For ages 5 and older, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2. Listen to ’Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving. Then make fun, hand-painted turkeys and other Thanksgiving crafts!
Stuffed Animal Sleepover: 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3 to 10 a.m. Nov. 4. The Library’s stuffed animals invite your stuffed friends to a sleepover at their house. Drop off your friends at a special story time. Then come back the next morning for a special program featuring a slideshow of their overnight adventures. Dolls and other toys are also welcome. One toy per child.
Greetings from Krampus! Have You Been Good?: For adults, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7. You’d better watch out! Krampus is coming to town! Huh? Join author Lissa Sloan to learn about the beast man who helps St. Nicholas by punishing the naughty ones among us at Christmastime. Sloan will read her selection in Krampusnacht: Twelve Nights of Krampus.
Dino O’Dell’s Happy Birthday, Marty!: For all ages, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9. It’s Marty’s birthday and Dino O’Dell is throwing a party. Join the fun as Dino and Marty celebrate together with singing, dancing, and swimming in peanut butter.
Long-Term Care Planning: 2 p.m. Nov. 10. The majority of people over age 65 will need some type of long-term care at some point. Learn about long- term care options and how to create a plan to fit your needs.
Kid Games: For ages 6 and older, 2 p.m. Nov. 14. Connect, cooperate, and compete in a variety of games that are fun for your brain. Game on!
Kids Create – Harvest Art: For ages 6 and older, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16. Spark your imagination and express yourself through art and craft activities.
Draw Like Van Gogh: For ages 6 and older, 10 a.m. Nov. 18. Explore the creative vision of post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh. Children will learn about Van Gogh, the inspiration of Arles, France, on his painting, and study his dynamic and energetic brush strokes in his Sunflowers. Then it’s their turn to use color, contrast, and patterns to create their version of Van Gogh’s masterpiece.
READ to a Dog: For ages 3 and older, 11 a.m. Nov. 18. Sit down and read to some very good listeners – Pet Partner Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ). Dogs will be available for 10-minute sessions to help children improve their reading skills and build self-confidence.
Teens Create – Sequined Ornaments: 2 p.m. Nov. 25. Unleash your imagination.
Warm from the Oven: For adults, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28. Join an award-winning culinary team to learn how to make mouth-watering, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls. This hands-on instructional class will take you through the steps of making the dough, rolling the rolls, and creating a sweet icing from scratch. Each participant will leave with a pan full of doughy goodness to take home and bake.
Intermediate Word: For adults, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Sharpen your document creation skills with several great features of Microsoft Word. Attendance of the program Beginning Word is suggested.
