St. Michael’s Veterans Center will be hosting several events to honor our community’s veterans, from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 9, at St. Michael's Campus, Phase II – Lobby and Community Room, 3838 Chelsea, Kansas City,

Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, and are inspired to do extraordinary things when faced with a challenge. This event will not only recognize the many types of military heroes that reside at their Campus, but the vast array of community heroes that made the Campus vision a reality!

Safe, permanent, affordable housing is the foundation of the St. Michael’s Veterans Center Campus. Phase II of the Campus recently opened with 59 additional housing units designed as permanent housing for homeless and/or disabled veterans. This 24-acre site is located at East 39th Street and Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., just south of the VA Medical Center in Kansas City. This unique campus consists of 117 affordable apartment units that offer permanent housing with quality amenities. An “Honor Pavilion” Commemorative Garden will connect and recognize all branches of the military with various flowers and landscaping (Future Phases.) The Honor Pavilion signifies the unity and pride of each branch as they serve and protect.

This event is open to the public. For more information about St. Michael’s Veterans Center, visit www.smvets.org.
