The GFWC Nu-Era Study Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6, at Wilshire Hills 1 in Lee’s Summit. GFWC Achieving By Reading Club will be guests. Pam Creasman and Trish Shelton will be co-hosting. Vice President Mary Moore will conduct the meeting. The program will be the Missouri Leadership Seminar Report given by Beverly Shelton. A potluck luncheon will follow the meeting.

The Club’s December’s Service Project will be working on Christmas Bag Distribution at Hillcrest Thrift Store. The Club will be donating $50+ to the Kansas City Rescue Mission-Women’s Center.

Twelve club members attended the Second District Convention on Oct. 13. An outstanding program was presented by W.T. Johnson on how underground slaves used quilt patterns to find freedom.

Sixteen members worked on the ‘Harvester’s Check Out Hunger’ Service Project at Sandy Dennis’ home on Oct. 17. Mary Moore reported that 25 cases of water were donated for the Hurricane victims and delivered to Abundant Life Church.

The November meeting was held at The Egg & I, in Lee’s Summit with President Gail Jones presiding. The program was on Honey Bees and it was presented by Stephanie Kemp, Naturalist at Burr Oaks. The Club collected leftover Halloween candy to donate to Operation Gratitude.

The November service project will be at the Kansas City Rescue Mission-Women’s Center, 2611 E. 11th St., Kansas City, at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15. Six members will be providing and serving meals for 20 people.
