The Missouri Veterans Commission will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 14, at its Veterans Service Office location in Independence, 3675 S. Noland Road, Suite 125. The public is invited to attend and visit with Veterans Service Officers and Missouri Veterans Commission Veterans Service Officer Program leaders.

Veterans Service Officers at the Independence location assist Jackson and Cass County veterans and their dependents with filing for VA benefits, including submitting the claims applications with all necessary documentation. These benefits include service-connected compensation, non-service connected disability pension, education and training, vocational rehabilitation, burial, and survivor benefits. They will also assist claimants with health care eligibility, VA Home Loan Guaranty, and other Veterans benefits.

Veterans Service Officers will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To contact the Independence office, call 816-325-5882 or 816-325-5883.
